AFL Victoria Alcohol Charter
As part of AFL Victoria’s Alcohol Strategy 2012, it was decided that an AFL Victoria Alcohol Charter would help facilitate a consistent approach to alcohol issues across community football in Victoria. This was completed in consultation with Julie Rolfe, from well cut words.
In particular, it was thought that an Alcohol Charter would:
- Ensure that minimising alcohol related harm is on the agenda of Regional Commissions and senior leagues
- Provide a consistent framework whilst still providing flexibility for Regional Commissions and senior leagues to develop relevant strategies to address their own issues
- Facilitate the limited resources of Regional Commissions and senior leagues being used in an effective manner to tackle alcohol issues, and
- Show leadership on an important social issue.
